This role is a part of the senior team at the plant and is accountable for leading a comprehensive safety and wellness process using a proactive approach. Creating a safety culture, where our associates’ safety and well-being is always the #1 priority. This highly energized, on-the-floor leader will engage with associates daily, help lead safety messaging and stretching exercises during shift meetings and work cross-functionally to ensure safety training and compliance is very effective. Creation and implementation of a safety strategy for the plant will be required. Sharing key learnings, issues, opportunities, and best practices as an active contributor to the Safety Community across the plant network and building relationships with peers and cross-functional partners will be critical to success.

Job Summary

All members of Entergy’s safety function will be expected to own safety, work to prevent incidents and seek to improve with the understanding that zero harm is possible. As a leader, you will be expected to role model the behaviors expected from your team such as timely reporting, accurate documentation, and meeting deadlines. The director will provide strategic leadership, direction and management to those within the safety function. This position will also be accountable to business function and executive leadership for the safety and health performance within their areas of responsibility and any deficiencies identified along with sustainable solutions to prevent future issues. It will be expected that the director engages with and develops safety leaders to support their growth and build bench strength within the safety function.
