Valtir is currently seeking a highly motivated and accomplished Director, Environmental, Safety, and Industrial Hygiene. The successful candidate will oversee and lead all facets of our health and safety programs across our business.

* Ensure that Company’s safety management system is complete and delivering the results we expect
* Bring the latest thinking and knowledge in operational safety
* Be fully up to speed with OSHA and other regulatory requirements
* Have demonstrated capability in developing and implementing a company-wide Safety
Management System
* Have proven capability in leading a dedicated team of safety professionals be directly and indirectly and the ability to align corporate and operational staff to safety plans
* Be equally comfortable setting direction in a corporate environment and leading / driving safety on the shop floor at our facilities
* Serve as a visible and hands on leader for our overall Safety Program
* Insure regulatory compliance with Title V Permit
* Directly and indirectly lead a team of Safety professionals across the company
What you’ll need:
* Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline related to health and safety plus 5+ years related management/supervisory experience. BSc/BA in safety management or relevant field is preferred
* CSP, ASP, GSP or other recognized equivalent certification preferred or ability to obtain
* Managed National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) air quality
activities
* 5+ years of Safety Leadership experience in a Multi-Site environment (Plant / DC / Lab /
HQ)
* 7+ years of progressive safety experience
* Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience working in a chemical, manufacturing or transportation environment in a health and safety capacity
* Proven experience as safety leader in a multi facility environment with a track record of
improving safety culture and results
* Significant experience with behavioral based safety programs
* Ability to interface, manage and motivate a diverse workforce to achieve corporate safety
objectives
* Ability to be a Self-starter that works well with minimal supervision
* Be able to travel to domestic sites with or without notice up to 35% of the time
* Effective communication skills with the ability to make presentations to corporate staff as well as field personnel
* Astute understanding of OSHA and other government safety regulations
* Proficiency in computer programs
* Ability to produce reports and develop relevant policies
* Good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment
* Excellent organizational and motivational skills
* Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability
